Chardon Paris ... in Venice

Venissa, island of Mazzorbo

For me, it is impossible to visit Venice without visiting the islands. This is where the soul of the city is hidden. In Mazzorbo, discover the Venissa vineyard, an extraordinary place where I have my habits. Have a coffee in the morning in the garden in front of the bell tower, see the colours appearing behind the mist; magic!

A terrace on a quiet square

La Frasca, Sestiere Cannaregio

I love Luciano, the truculent restaurateur behind this address as well as the"Boccadoro" located just next door. It's small, friendly, the menu with antipasti from the sea, like the risottos, is crazy. A faultless place on such quiet squares... a luxury in Venice (beware, it's a pain to find them!).

A foundation that has just opened its doors on the Grand Canal and can be visited simply by appointment with a guide. It is always wonderful to discover a new palace on the most beautiful avenue in the world. You can admire ancient works as well as more modern things, always linked to Venice and/or to the history of the Grimani family and its palazzo. The only thing missing is the taxi boat that picks you up in front of the entrance on the water... Amazing.

Gondola passion

Traghetto san Tomà

Passion gondola, but not just any gondola! The traghetto is a huge gondola that crosses the Grand Canal for the modest sum of ... 2 euros! Venetians use it all the time to avoid the bridges and the tourists. You have to do as they do and enjoy the show, standing stoically on this rather special means of transport. It is taken in 2 places, Santa Sofia and San Tomà !
