Twenty-nineMarsattack
Assemble fragments of magazines on pieces of cardboard. To make shapes and silhouettes emerge, and give birth to stories. Scribble over them. Adding a few words, little stepladders stretched towards the imaginary.
I started making collages several decades ago.
For a long time they remained in drawers or hung on familiar walls.
I want their universe to be told to others than me; that's why I create today the site vingtneufmars where whoever wishes it can acquire them.
Throughout his career as an advertising designer, Pierre-Ivan Bouffard has played with words against images: in echo, in counterpoint, in shift... He develops in his collages a poetic graphics supported by anodyne sentences that suddenly slip to take the story in the opposite direction... But the accidents are here without gravity, telescoping of absurd ideas, pile-ups of ink and paper.
