Coffee with...Alexandra Sloves - US development manager
In my bag there is ...
My dog: Stella, an adorable Cavalier King Charles, I adopted her a few months ago. I have a "5 star kennel" backpack for her, in which I take her everywhere, to my work, on my trips, to the café. In this very comfortable portable kennel, I have put all of Stella's world: a cashmere blanket, nappies, sometimes toys. It's her campsite, a real removable house. She keeps very quiet in it! I hung my Chardon tag on it, personalised with my initials.
Notebooks and lots of pens: I'm very 'paper'. If I don't take notes, I don't record. I recently found a way to better organise my thoughts, with different coloured notebooks for different subjects. In parallel, I will soon replace my laptop with an iPad when I travel, to lighten my load!
A mini "Alligator" purse: I love sober things, I fell in love with this crocodile. I love this purse that doesn't take up any space. This one is very funny, it's an Anya Hindmarch bought on Net à Porter. I put all my cards in it, starting with Stella's ID card.
A book: At the moment it's "le goût du moche" by Alice Pfeiffer, to rethink everyday life in a funny way! It completely echoes my way of attaching myself to particular pieces, funny things, not necessarily beautiful, but which bring me joy and fun in everyday life!
On holiday I take with me...
I don't like the principle of seasonal pieces, but I prefer those that last for the day and serve me all the time. So I take my usual things, like my sunglasses (I'm a California girl, I'm used to wearing sunglasses every day ;) It's sometimes less the case in France).
I don't take much jewellery, but otherwise I take all my everyday basics with me, especially my favourite Linnea Lund scarf, a silk and cashmere square, it's absolutely perfect and chic, I've converted all my friends!
Otherwise I take the minimum: 3 jeans / 5 t-shirts / 2 jumpers / 1 jacket + 1 small down jacket / 2 men's shirts (I love men's clothes). For shoes: trainers on the plane and moccasins in the suitcase.
Important! I always travel with good coffee! Either I find a local coffee shop or I bring my own!
