CAPUCINE GRABY
Journalist, author, entrepreneur, but above all an avid traveller, Capucine Graby wanted to share another way of getting away from it all, far from standardised travel circuits and aseptic hotel chains. Guided above all by her founder's curious and open-minded approach, MyMoonSpots offers a sharp selection of addresses, atypical experiences and tailor-made getaways for demanding globe-trotters.
For Chardon Paris, Capucine talks about her tips for travelling light, the stress of airport security checks and her passion for Burma...
Who are you?
I am a journalist, a great reporter and founder of the website MyMoonSpots which invites you to travel in a unique way, off the beaten track, through my reports but also through the handmade travel moments I create all year long in my travel flat.
How often do you travel?
I travel all year round. Every school holiday with my children or friends, the rest of the year with members of my community who sign up for my "end of the world experiences", or with a photographer for great reportage.
Business or personal travel?
My luck is to be able to mix the two. When I'm reporting I feel like I'm on holiday and when I'm on holiday I'm always on the lookout for a new original address or a new travel experience idea to offer my clients.
Carry-on or checked luggage?
I never take a suitcase in the hold to save time, I just carry a little blue Faguo bag that goes everywhere. I like to have my suitcase close by, it's reassuring, I had mine "crushed" (according to Air France) when I went to Italy a few years ago...
How do you fill it? Do you have any tips on how not to be overloaded?
I love to travel very light, having few clothes and skincare products allows me to feel like I'm on holiday. I only take a few pieces that I love.
What do you always have on hand when you travel?
A micro medicine kit to avoid the worst when I'm away from everything.
A KOS after-sun.
A book by Nicolas Bouvier;
A good dose of confidence not to draw the eye in risky countries.
At the airport, how do you handle the security check?
Very bad! I always arrive at the last minute just to give myself a huge stress. It's ridiculous and has played tricks on me but the thought of wasting time at the airport makes me hysterical!
A favourite destination?
I have many. Each trip is unique. Because it is shared with different people, at different times in my life.
Burma is my country of heart, discovered 20 years ago, I returned there many times. There is an unparalleled gentleness in this country that remains hidden from view. I was also amazed by the sustainable consciousness of Nicaragua last year.
Below is also a picture of Menorca, which I love for off-season breaks
